If I buy AC Origins Gold but already have the base game, will Steam just add in the DLCs? /u/Aerlinniel_aer Steam on Reddit

Currently trying to finalize what I’m getting at the Winter sale and am tempted by AC Origins. The catch is, I already own it – I’m after the DLC.

Long story short: AC Origins is $12.99, the Seasons pass is $14.99. Gold edition also has the Ambushed at Sea mission that the Seasons pass doesn’t.

However, I already have AC Origins. If I buy the Gold edition it says “If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of: Assassin’s Creed® Origins”. Steam will just add all the DLC into my existing game, right? Or does buying the Gold edition not work if I already have the standard one?

This is the first time I’ve tried rebuying an upgraded version of a game after already having the base game. Thus, worried about how Steam would handle this.
