My girlfriend has a kink for being degraded verbally and physically and has asked me several times to do things like call her names when flirting or having sex.
She hasn’t asked me to actually physically degrade or be rough with her all that much, but the few times she has, the results have been mixed or very poor. One time she asked me to spit on her face. When I did it, she immediately disengaged and eventually cried.
Other times she’s asked me to call her some degrading name in bed and the response has never really been good. At the very least, she seems more reserved after I call her names, so I don’t even know why she keeps asking me to do this.
I recently told her that I don’t feel comfortable doing this anymore because she never responds well and is obviously hurt at worst. She said she wanted to continue trying but I asked why she would even want to keep going when she’s not enjoying it and she didn’t have an answer.
It feels awful to see her CLEARLY not having fun but yet she keeps asking me to do and say these things.
How do I work through this with her?
