I like my pants to sit somewhat low, around the top of the hip bone, because I tend to get abdominal discomfort if I wear them higher. However a common problem I have when I wear them there is that there will be a lot of extra space in the crotch area, making my torso look elongated in an unflattering way, and also the pants look baggier than I’d like.
I’ve done some reading and I think the issue may be that I’m usually wearing mid-rise pants which are intended to sit a bit higher, closer to the navel, and so by wearing them lower I’m creating this extra space in the crotch area and making them look more baggy than they’re intended to look. So I’m suspecting that if I want pants that will sit where I want them to sit but not create this extra space and bagginess, I should be trying low-rise pants instead of mid-rise.
Am I on the right track here? Has anyone else had this problem?
