I might be late to the party, but this is the first time I saw the Superfans cut where it was revealed in an Oscar-and-Andy scene that Andy has an uncle on the board of Dunder-Mifflin, and that Andy’s dad is on the board of a company that the the nephew works at.
This backstory seems really important and explains so much. It explains a lot about how Andy kept his job at DM through the branch closing and the anger management incident. This was also right before when Michael called Oscar into the hospitality suite and Oscar clammed up — I think this set into perspective for Oscar that Andy is especially invincible and not just cheering him on as a friend/ally.
