Suit options for someone with intense clothing sensory issues /u/Karteroli_Oli /r/malefashionadvice

I’m at my wits end. I need a suit, but I have a lot of restrictions on what I’m able to tolerate clothing-wise.

It’s mainly an issue with the pants. I’m unable to wear regular button and fly pants, only elastic waist pants, but I’m having a hard time finding anything remotely functional but still appropriate for a particularly dressy occasion.

I’ve tried those dress pants with the “hidden” side elastic bands and they’re unfortunately not stretchy enough for my needs. Maybe it would work if the material of the pants was already really stretchy, but the stiffness of the fabric around my waist a sensory nightmare.

I’m willing to try anything, and I’m willing to spend the extra money to take it to a tailor and have it customized if needed. I just don’t know what’s possible, nor where to start. Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated.
