(I know such leather is likely low quality – this is the type of leather I’m asking about, not some high quality horse hide from a named tannery in Italy or something!) I’m hoping to get away with some TKMaxx leather jackets for £100 or less, original price £200-£300. Leather is labelled as above, some even say 100% lamb leather. All made in India or Pakistan. Polyester linings. Some have YKK zippers.
How long would that last typically? If I take good care of them can I get 5-10 years or more out of them? And what exactly happens to it at the end of its “life”? Does the leather disintegrate or something? Or do you just tear it easily by accident? Or does the lining fail first? etc
And for such leather jackets, do you bother with leather conditioning products?
(if I were to go for an actual decent real REAL leather jacket I’d go with Aero in Scotland but I don’t fancy paying £1000 for one. My thinking is that instead of a single £1000 jacket that lasts 20 years, I’d rather go for 8 x £100 jackets that each last 2.5 years lol. More designs for less money!)
