setting up a new controller /u/BigHatGriggs Steam on Reddit

So I just got my *8bitdo SNES controller in the mail the other day. I’m trying to play Borderlands 2 with it and set it up through Steam. The problem I’m having is that Steam requires you to map “A” and “B”, I don’t know if there’s a software I can get to get around having to map the “B” button. “B” is just the jump button, but it’s really not necessary and it would be great if I could map commands to where pressing a combo of buttons would work. If this isn’t the place for this post and someone knows of another subreddit, I’d appreciate it XD
