Perm Mute – What I’ve Learned /u/Turo_Guide Old School RuneScape!

Coming up on my second year of being perma muted on my 7.5yr old ironman.

When I was perma muted my first thought was to create a new account. Given how many hours and work I poured into my ironman there was just no way of ever starting a new account (2,100+ total level).

Instead, my mindset was if I continued playing my iron this would be “serving out my punishment”.

So almost two years later, I’ve been playing daily without being able to talk in game. Surprisingly, it has taken a bit of a mental toll on me from time to time which I didn’t expect. About one year in it made me realize how much of my ‘social life’ came from OSRS. It really sucks not being able to say gzz to clan mates when they level up.

I think one year in is where I actually started realizing how much of a toxic monster I was. I’ve been an active player since I was 11 years old and honestly it feels like I don’t deserve to be apart of the community for the things I’ve said.

It honestly embarrasses me that my actions led to a permanent mute. This experience has given me time to slowly reflect on it all.

Sorry everyone.
