(19f) was sexually assaulted. I don’t know how to tell my (68m) father who has cancer /u/Throwawayadvice2274 Sex

I’m not sure if this is appropriate, but I really am not sure what to do and I could use your help. A few weeks ago I attended a Valentine’s Day party with some other students at my university. I had quite a few too many drinks (which is totally on me), and I ended up dancing and making out with a guy I had just met. Anyway it ended with me going home with him and some of his friends and he and 3 of his friends ended up sexually assaulting me. I have been really struggling with getting over what happened, and I really feel like I would benefit from some form of counselling. The problem is that I am on my dads health insurance and since I don’t really have the money myself I would have to tell him everything. I am very close with my dad but he is currently fighting cancer, and isn’t in the best health. I have told my older sister all of this and she has explicitly told me not to tell our dad about what is going on in case it causes his condition to worsen, and I know he would be devastated to hear what happened to me. So at this point I really don’t know what to do. I don’t think I can just push through and get over what happened myself, especially since several of the guys responsible are in my program. I would really appreciate any advice on my situation. Thank you!
