I understand the market is tough right now but I work in aerospace/defense and can move around internally. I don’t want to work in FAANG and care more about WLB than making top TC. I’m looking into Oregon state Online post bacc CS degree and then doing Omscs at GT. Both would be fully reimbursed by my employer. I already have a BS/MS in engineering.
My question is, is this transition worth it ? Given the market conditions, I don’t think it would affect me since the jobs I’m applying to need SC (Sec clearance).
Reason for switching from traditional operations: CS seems to tackle lots of challenging issues at hand and I have been part of some of those changes (minus the programming part). I also work closely with systems engineers and would like that role one day.
