My father is dying and we’re not close. What should I say to him? /u/Ok_Fox_6628 No such thing as stupid questions

Context… Parents split in the 80s. I barely saw him. We had a close phase in the early 2000s but less after that. He’s been fighting cancer for 4 or 5 years now. It’s any day, or it could be a month, or 6. But he’s suffering….I never know what to say or do. I’d love to hear your experiences. I genuinely don’t know the answer.
