I watch a lot of true crime and hear many people say “we knew it was a safe neighborhood, so we didn’t lock our doors” and I’ve always wondered, what is the potential benefit of not locking doors? What do you get out of that but compromised safety every day? If the door comes with a lock, why not use it?
