Struggling with Aftercare in a FWB Situation – Seeking Advice /u/Pure-Touch-5005 Sex

Hey, Reddit! I’ve been in a friends-with-benefits situation for about 1.5 months, and things have been pretty casual, but lately, I’ve been feeling like something’s missing. We’ve been taking things slow on the physical side (I’m still figuring out if I want to be celibate, so I’m not rushing into sex), but I’ve been giving him head during our time together. Afterward, he usually makes me something to eat and then kind of zones out, playing on his phone as if I’m not there.

I’ve talked to him about wanting more aftercare, like emotional connection or at least feeling like I’m being acknowledged afterward, and he said he’d provide it once we do more stuff sexually. I get that he might think it’s not necessary right now since we haven’t gone all the way, but I feel like aftercare should be a part of any intimate experience, regardless of the level of physical intimacy.

Is it normal for him to think aftercare should only come after more sex? Am I asking for too much? Or should I try to communicate this more clearly and set boundaries around what I need after intimacy?

Looking for thoughts from anyone in similar situations. Thanks!
