Should I apply for internships as a PhD or MS student if I’m planning to master out in a year? /u/RDSne CSCQ protests reddit

I’m on the second semester of my PhD, but I’m planning to finish the second year and leave with master’s. I’m actively applying for internships, but quite a few of them have a strong preference towards people available for full-time employment in 2026. While in reality, I’ll be on the market by that time, technically my PhD is until 2028. Do you think I should modify my resume to indicate that I’ll actually get master’s and will be out by 2026?
