Need guidance on how to proceed. Junior CompSci major /u/Abelysk CSCQ protests reddit

Hello everyone!

I’m a junior with an expected graduation date of Spring 2026. I’m interested in an internship over the summer of this year but I fear it’s too late.

The good: I’ve done some LeetCode over the year and have some algorithm knowledge. Though, I stil need to study up some concepts like path finding, DP, graph traversal. I think I’m okay with C++, but I’m still relatively new to Java and C.

The not so good: No internship applications yet. No personal projects because I don’t know html, css, or JS or any frameworks for that matter. Am taking a database class this semester but at the moment I haven’t learned how to use any DBMS tools. Am in progress of going through The Odin Project, albeit rather slowly, so hopefully that improves things somewhat.

As for soft skills, I’m unfortunately quite awkward and introverted so communication (networking) is mystified to me.

If you were in my shoes and you wanted a career in CS, what would you do realistically? No doom-and-gloom posts please. Am kindly asking for constructive answers.

Thank you!
