Steam cloud save across devices lost me 2 hours of progress in a game. /u/KakorotJoJoAckerman Steam on Reddit

I was playing Hollow Knight on Steel Stole (a no death gamemode, you die, you lose your file) on a laptop. Before that, I was playing on a desktop where I got 2+ hours on that save file. I played for another 2 hours on the laptop. But for some weird reason, when I logged onto my desktop again, it only showed 2 hours on that save file. All that 2 hour progress on the laptop was gone. I tried checking on the laptop too and same thing. 2 hours only…..

Usually if there are different cloud saves existing and having a conflict, it asks for permission to use which one. This happened without my knowledge and I only got to know because I lost my 2 hours of progress. (which hurts a lot coz steel soul is pretty hard and I had been losing my steel soul saves by well, dying. Mostly in stupid ways. Now I lost it due to no fault of my own….. I had defeated some of the harder bosses and areas I had died to previously as well. So that just sucks,
