How to make proton allow to save to native file system instead of simulated windows one when using software /u/0boy0girl Steam on Reddit

i use a lot of regular software through steam for auto updates and the like. godot, aesprite, retroarch ect…
Is there a way to bring up my actual file browser and save to my documents, or do i have to just book mark the file system proton/steam generates for the programs?
