You always hear cops complaining about it being “impossible” to do their jobs when citizens affirm their rights by refusing to allow searches, and remaining silent. I’m curious to know what cops tell their kids to do when they’re learning to drive. I have to imagine it’s substantially different from what they want every other person to do.
ETA: I wasn’t looking to start anything re nepotism. My question is more about when that fails. A lawyer would advise to always refuse searches, field sobriety tests, answering any questions beyond name & address, etc. Would a cop advise the same?
