So my (22M) GF (20F) rarely have sex. I saw a similar post on here which gave me the idea to post about my situation because I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. We’ve been together for over 5 years and we have lived together for a little while now. We used to be on a streak of having sex once or so a week but it felt fine because we had different work schedules & we’re busy doing other stuff. Now though we have pretty much the same work hours, we spend a lot of time at home watching shows in bed, or doing nothing. But then whenever I ask or try and make a move to have sex she comes up with every excuse in the book not to. I get being tired after a long day of work or not feeling good but every time I ask it’s a different excuse & she won’t even really try to get in the mood or turned on. If I try to kiss/makeout with her she’ll turn her head and say she’s not in the mood. We’ve had conversations about it multiple times and nothing ever comes of them.
Since I know people will ask, when we do have sex yes she enjoys it & orgasms every time. I’m 99.9% sure she is not cheating on me.
Do any of you guys have recommendations on where to go from here? I feel like I’m too young to be dealing with this but we’re best friends and I don’t really want to lose our relationship over this. I’ve asked her if she’s even into me anymore and she always says yes she just doesn’t want to have sex all the time. Should I recommend seeing us/her seeing a therapist or something like that? I’ve thought about recommending an open relationship but then it’s like if she would want to have sex there’s no need for that. Maybe we just aren’t compatible when it comes to intimacy or maybe there’s something else missing in our relationship.
