What does it even mean to “orgasm”? /u/Esuuuuu Sex

Hi, it’s a genuine question. The answer doesn’t seem to be as clear-cut as one think, everyone is different.

AFAIK there is “kind of” a consensus about orgasm definition for men: it’s basically the moment when the man is ejaculating, releasing dopamine and oxytocin in the brain. I think it’s even possible to experience orgasm without necessarily ejaculating (dry orgasm?), but it’s not really a common situation. I’d describe the feeling of the orgasm as a “physical” intense sensation, the extreme joy of merging this part of my body “stuck”, “rubbing”, inside my partner’s body… at which point all my attention is vulnerably focused on this wonderful feeling. It’s so intense that my body is shaking. I wonder if most guys here can relate, or not?

I heard that women’s brain activity is way more complex during orgasm than men. I wonder if this above description fits women’s orgasm as well? I guess women won’t have analogous “part of my body stuck, rubbing, inside my partner’s body” sensation because they are the ones being penetrated? I know some women never experienced orgasm. So I ask for those who have experienced it, what it looks like?

-> Hence my question: From your point of you, what does it even mean to “orgasm”?
