Hello! Newbie DM here.
Me and my players just finished our 40th session from my homebrew campaign. In which the bbeg in the last ditch effort to break the barrier that was protecting the party to simply break the Staff of the Magi.
In the process all of my players ended up being transported to another plane, for better or for worse. Either way I had a plan for them but then I realised.. the partys cleric can simply cast banishment on all of them and transport them home. (If im not mistaken of course..)
Do I somehow stop this with lore excuses or do I let it happen? It feels unfair to them if they cant use their spells but also just foils my plans a bit. I can work around them its just a bummer.
Its just a thing when it comes to high level campaigns? Should I just accept it?
