Hi, I am currently a swe co-op at a big tech company, and I recently received an offer for a co-op position with the federal government. However, my current contract ends in August, while the government position starts in May. I am really interested in the government position because I believe I can work on something impactful there, but I am unsure what to do in this situation.
I am considering explaining the situation to my manager and leaving early, but I am worried it might backfire (I am only 2 weeks into my internship). I think the alternative is to ask the government to delay my start date but I feel like that won’t end well.
