Is taking an IT Analyst role a bad move if you have a CS degree? /u/Big_Organization_181 CSCQ protests reddit

Graduated in August, no experience at all in CS. Basically just some mediocre projects and a degree. Haven’t received a single interview since graduating (got 2 OA’s and both went poorly).

Recently accepted an entry level IT role that pays peanuts, it’s basically just help desk. But I just don’t think a career in software is going to play out for me at this rate, and maybe I can build off of this IT role.

Is this a bad move? Is anyone else in this position?

Also, I’m from Canada and can’t even hear back from a WITCH company, Revature, or Accenture, so there’s that.
