Headless Remote Play? /u/OriahVinree Steam on Reddit

Hi All,

I have a wired networking setup in my home, particularly from my main gaming PC and my mini pc connected to my living room TV.

What I’m wanting to figure out is the best way to stream my PC games to my living room TV. My TV is 4k, my gaming monitor is 3440×1440.

Is there a way to use my pc to stream the game, using my tv as the display output? Currently whenever I use remote play, it just plays on my PC and mirrors to the TV. Meaning my resolution is restricted to my gaming monitor.

Only solution I found was to plug in a dummy 4k plug, making my PC think I have a 4k output, but I am currently using all of my display and hdmi ports on my gpu.

Any advice is appreciated.
