Hello Everyone,
My fellow adventurers and I just finished our 11th session last night and my DM texted me this morning making me I think we should ask a person to leave the group.
To start our party is 5 people the DM and four PC(Fighter, Paladin, Rogue, and Cleric). Out of everyone the DM has been playing for years and everyone else has just this year started. We are certainly level 7 and are about to add two new players.
The party member in question has been relentless in multiple area, always asking for magic items and interrupting people being to most prominent.
To start our campaign plot if you will is to cure the cleric of a curse from reading a book. The Cleric and Rogue have made a friendship from chemistry and the paladin is just a fun person to have, but the fighter does not try to make connections or talk to the fellow adventures. Mostly just waiting till they believe its their turn. So everyone in the party but the fighter have a reason to be adventuring together. The Rogue has tried to kick the fighter out two times, the last time the Rogue and Paladin wanted to but the Cleric wanted to keep the fighter out of the kindness giving them one more chance.
Whenever the party visits a new town the fighter wants to visit the blacksmith and magic shops. A normal PC would ask what the shop keeper has in stock but the fighter will pull out their phone and ask for +2 or higher armor and weapons. Or go to an enchanter asking for high level 4 to 5 spells to be enchanted in their items. Then if the DM allows it the fighter will try to negotiate for 50% and completed in a day or no deal. The rest of the party does not really try to ask for crazy items other than if they have any oils, gems, materials simple things to cast spells or making items.
Then to the second point whenever someone is trying to ask the DM something or talk the fighter will speak over them loudly saying yes DM describe that and also this and are their any people. Never giving the player the chance to ask their question fully or allow the DM to describe the scene organically.
Our DM texted me today sparking this rant, telling me that after every session the Fighter will talk to the DM about what he (the DM) could do better next time between story drive, NPCs, describing better. As well has asking for more and more items our party is level 7 and wanting a +3 breastplate. The fighter does not see that what he is asking is too much and not doing anything to move the story along instead wanting items or interrupting people when they are trying to talk.
The reason for this Post is what should I do, I am not the DM but I feel the DM has had enough and will end the campaign. I don’t want to end that and only solution is to ask the member to leave.
The Rogue has tried to tell the Fighter multiple times that you need to try to fit in more or what’s the point of you being here.
I appreciate any advice from what to say to the Fighter to get them to understand or a professional way of continuing without them.
