40 years old – Canada. Almost 2 years ago, I had an exposure with an Africa stripper. After 2 weeks, I had balanitis on the penis tip, something I never had before). Some weeks after, pain in the groin, dry mouth, tiredness, weight loss (10%), feeling of blocked throat and finally shingles.
Now since about 8 months, I do have an intense pressure that I have on both submandibular glands, in the throat, pressure under the tongue, redness in the throat, soft poop, pressure in the left groin, recurring balanitis and when I cut myself it takes forever to heal.
I did a lot of HIV screen like 4th gen (Abbott Architect) at 1, 3, 8, 11 and 18 months and also 3th gen (INSTI) at 16, 18 and 18 months. All negatives.
I know I don’t have HIV-1 because I did a PCR for HIV-1 in a private lab but I cannot do for HIV-2 because it needs to be requested by a doctor and they keep telling me I’m negative because of the 4th gen and 3th gen test.
When looking on Internet, almost all research is done for HIV-1 and almost nothing for HIV-2. Also, screening tests are more sensitive regarding HIV-1 comparing HIV-2.
Please, is there any people here who have some information regarding HIV-2 screening test? My life is a nightmare since 2 years.
