I have an idea for a game I really want to make as part of my personal projects. I’m just wondering if it would be a good for my resume and if employers like that kind of stuff. I’m not planning on being a game dev, this would purely be a passion project. I was planning to use libgdx since I still want to do a majority of the coding myself. I was hoping that since I’m not using an engine, it would look good to employers who want to make sure I know my stuff.
I’m currently working and going to school fulltime so I don’t have all the free time in the world to work on projects. So I would much prefer to work on something that’s going to make me look like a more attractive candidate when I graduate and it comes time to look for jobs. What do you guys think? Am I over thinking it, is any project a good project or should I focus on making something that isn’t game related.
