Is it necessary to get a masters for cs in this job market? How about AI? /u/Resident_Ebb6083 CSCQ protests reddit

Basically what the title says. Is a bachelors in computer science all I really need to land a software dev job in this market, or should I pursue a masters for a better chance at getting hired/better job security/better pay prospects in the future. I’d also like to ask if it is a different story of AI,ML, or DS engineers. I often find more entry level positions for software engineers requiring only a bachelors, but if you want to work in AI then they usually want a masters in a related field. I want to work in AI someday so even if I do go for the grind and apply to hundreds of companies for months straight until something happens I don’t know if I’ll be locked into that field or if I’ll be able to break into the AI/ML sphere at some point. I do have a dual Math and CS degree in progress, so I have the math. If I wanted to pursue a masters, In my current state I would most likely need to take out loans, so I am wondering whether it is worth it to go into student loan debt or if there are other paths I could feasibly take.
