Their reason to my understanding is Chinese spyware but that could be possible for all Chinese apps. They’re zoning in on TikTok and everyone’s moving to red ribbon which is another Chinese app. At least for social media any app could be spyware. Take it one step further any country could have spyware so why not ban all non American social media. Obviously that would be absurd but if they’re worried about spyware anything from anywhere can have it. I don’t understand if it’s stupid politics or there’s an actual logical reason it’s just TikTok.
