This might be a bit of a sensitive topic and trust me, i do know the downvotes gonna come and maybe this post won’t even be published.
But the achievements on steam are a thing and many games support it, older games are even getting them, i am sure, most people do like them or at least tolerates them.
But my question is, why are they so ”discreet” ?
I recently played a game on the epic game store, i know, blasphemy, but it was KILL KNIGHT, the first ever game i got for free and adored since it was on my steam wishlist and it was the first time i actually saw achievements on EGS and good lord, they are well implemented, the pop up nicely and they really pump you up when playing.
Same goes for PSN games on consoles, but compared to them both, the pop-up on steam is so ”mundane” to say the least, it is like ”well, u got an achievement, here u go, meh, so what?”.
I know some would say it is less intrusive and don’t distract you, for me, i say it is more like it feels like an afterthought and just there so people don’t say there isn’t any achievements.
At the very least, make an option for it, so people can choose how they pop put, won’t that be nice ?
thank you for reading this, now give me your best shot.
