I’ve been playing a campaign for a few months now, and I feel like something’s not quite right. Every time a session ends, I’m left with this strange emptiness, and I can’t tell if I’m actually enjoying myself or not.
The DM is a bit repetitive, and some parts of the game feel drawn-out or boring. However, what really gives me this feeling is the behavior of some of the players.
One of them constantly feels the need to correct both the DM and the rest of us on just about everything. If my character makes any decision, they’re quick to say it’s “out of character.” During roleplay, they dominate about 90% of the conversations, leaving me feeling sidelined. The other players seem to enjoy his company, admire his knowledge, and practically idolize his roleplaying skills. I can recognize that he’s talented, but for me, it’s often unbearable.
I haven’t been able to play my character the way I wanted because of this, and I always feel like I’m the one in the wrong. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I can’t deny feeling this way.
To complicate things, his girlfriend is also in the campaign, and their interactions dominate the table. She supports everything he says, and he does the same for her.
Do you have any advice on how to handle this situation?
