Do undead count as worshippers when it comes to chasing divinity if ordered to? /u/GME-made-me-do-it DnD: Roll for Initiative!

I am currently working on a big scheme of my campaign which includes SKT. Basically I have Orcus team up with the Kraken (who also wants to become divine) to share the material plane. The Oceans belong to the kraken and everything on land will be full of undead under Orcus’ command to do whatever he pleases which I read is his wet dream. With this control over the undead Orcus could make them worship the kraken as part of the deal they closed when they decided to team up and help him get his wish of divinity fulfilled. (They are obviously gonna scam each other, but that’s on another plate)

I know that if I DM it that way, it’s possible in my campaign but how is it lorewise? And are my general understandings of divinity lacking something?
