Are Italians actually offended if someone doesn’t cook in traditional way? /u/nhjkv No such thing as stupid questions

I always seeing videos around Italians having strong reactions when it comes on cooking food. Some meme stuff like breaking the spaghetti, pineapple on pizza – into some legit stuff like people should be using hands instead of using a mixer (it’s faster so why not), and right way of slicing meat, and whether onions can go before garlic.

Now I don’t know if it’s just for content or it is really a thing that Italians are strongly protective with how traditionally food should be cooked. Nothing wrong with that. But the way they react is that they are really angry or crying that I think it might be very very serious and sacreligous.

Is the reaction just for content or it’s really a cultural thing?
