Why are some people so good at picking when something “feels like” AI, while others can’t even see it when it’s pointed out to them? /u/Xentonian No such thing as stupid questions

I’ve noticed that AI images, even “good ones” feel very obviously like AI. Eventually, with scrutiny, you can pinpoint all the little details that are wrong, like bones not being positioned right, or hair not making sense, or weird things like a wooden bedpost continuing the grain from the wooden floor.

But even before noticing each of those, AI images always seem clearly like AI and I notice them quite easily

… But then there’s a bunch of people who just don’t. Even when you point out all the little details, they can’t tell that it’s AI or just an art style.

Is there a reason for this? Is it a weird processing thing, like synesthesia?

Which do you think is more normal: the ability to easily notice AI or for it to be less noticeable until scrutinised?
