If I opt for a beta version of a game, will the original game still be downloaded? /u/SwagFancy_Route Steam on Reddit

I was trying to download CS2 recently, and after 6 fucking hours of pure patience when i was at 50%, i realised I had selected csgo_legecy in the option. Should i restart the download and bust my ass off it or will cs2 be downloaded if i changed it to “none” mid-download.
