I have a fairly big scar and have had bad luck with intimacy. How can I avoid things getting awkward? /u/woahhh_thats_crazy Sex

I have a scar across my lower stomach that basically looks like I had a C section. (I had a tumour removed from my ovary) I’ve had past experiences where guys have been very surprised when undressing me (either thinking I have secret children or getting turned off by the scar). I’ve even had a guy ask me to cover it once he saw it. I don’t usually mention the scar beforehand because it’s fairly new (less than a year old) and I’m still working on not being insecure.

Are scars something guys really care about? Do I have to warn them about it before having sex?

note: I’m not looking for validation about my scar just advice on how best to bring it up in conversation if you think i should before having sex
