How to be a better dm /u/LieEnvironmental5207 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Just had a good (i think) session after a long hiatus, and I feel like my players may not have enjoyed it as much as usual. I’ve asked each of them to let me know how they felt about the session and for any feedback they have, but I’m also wanting to ask around here for any general tips for a somewhat new DM. Any tips for how to better run a session? How to get into character more, make things more exciting, how to improvise conversations better with NPCS, how to prep better content for my sessions – anything of that sort. I’d really appreciate it
