Designer jeans hem /u/cmshedd /r/malefashionadvice

I picked up some 7 for all Mankind, PAIGE and AG Jeans.

What is the protocol for hemming jeans:

  • regular hem (cut and make a new hem)
  • hem with original hem (sew on original hem)
  • chain stitch (cut and make new hem with chain stitch)

The 7 store I believe provides free hemming with the original hem, but some other jeans stores I’ve been calling are not offering it. Some are recommending chain stitch and saying the hem wear will come back naturally.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
