The Definition of Consent /u/joet889 Sex

I’m working on a fiction story that explicitly explores BDSM in a relationship. Considering the subject of my story, and the likelihood of some audience members misunderstanding the story or even using the story as justification for their own desires to inflict harm, I would like to open the story with a quote that encapsulates the meaning of consent in a strong, clear way, to at least show definitively where the author stands. But I would like something that isn’t just a broad/clinical definition. Something that possibly feels poetic, or at the very least has some academic weight and complexity.

I don’t really know where to look, would love some suggestions for authors who specialize in the topic, who have an interesting writing style, and/or who are respected/prestigious in their field.
