Is it okay to not use soap when washing my vulva and pubic hair? /u/Nella_87 Sex

I have very sensitive skin that reacts to nearly every soap or body wash I use. I break out in painful stinging rashes which take weeks to go away, the area which is most sensitive and affected is my vulva. When I have experimented using medicated shampoos or washes in my pubic hair or in my vulva I end up with blisters and very bad rashes. I was recommended by my gastroenterologist to not wash with soap at all and just use warm water and a gentle cloth. I’ve been doing so for some time now, but I’ve noticed my scent down there has become very strong and often noticeable through my clothing. I’ve been tested for BV and sti’s but they have come back negative. My gynaecologist said after my last appointment that it’s just my natural scent. She did smell me and noted that my pubic hair will trap oils, sweat and other fluids. But that’s normal and healthy. I feel like I want a second opinion, I don’t wish to use soap or shave but I want to find a way to stop my scent down there from being very noticeable.
