Is IG sexualizing your feed too? /u/the_most_playerest No such thing as stupid questions

I’ve noticed especially recently anytime I go to search something in ig, the random stuff that pops up on the search page is just more and more sexual.. today I went to search for a person, but before I even got that far was bombarded by multiple not quite dick pics, among multiple not quite nudes, amongst essentially pic of bikinis and other thirst traps..

Is this the case for anyone else? Is that happening to everyone or maybe just my demographic (29m)? Is this something that I have contributed to the algorithm via my own decision making? Or is this something that the algorithm has decided to feed me because it knows that Im a single male?? Or is it not the algorithm and basically Instagram is just a gateway drug to OnlyFans?

For the longest time my feed was pretty much just art and music, and I deliberately liked and follow things to keep my algorithm on that track, sorry I guess more than anything I’m just curious if others have been having a similar experience and if so what is the cause. Has IG generally shifted their algorithm towards more sexualized content for their own financial reasons? Has to be algorithm done that by itself, unchecked? Or have the users actually flooded it with that content (sure not to the extent that I see!)?

Sorry to bombard you with all these questions, but I’m just so damn curious after seeing the not quite R-rated content on there today..
