It felt weird to be treated like a stranger by Aethas in the new questline /u/Either-Show-44 World of Warcraft

I’m an mage. I’ve had plenty to do with Aethas over the years – matter of fact I was bossing him around during legion!

Then why does the dude call me “champion”?

It would be much more personable if the NPCs would continue to adress us with our Legion titles if we’ve done the whole order hall gambit.

There was this era during WoD and Legion, where they included the player character much more into the narrative. Some players liked it, others yearned to return to the simpler times of random adventuring. In any case, you can’t really undo that. Found it quite fitting to eventually be considered an archmage, after everything my character has been through. There’s other classes, too. Sometimes they even get acknowledged (like the priest by Xal’atath!).

It would be a small change if they were to do that consistently where appropriate, but would do so much to be acknowledged as such.
