CS Masters from the US vs UK – does it matter if I work in Canada? /u/adobebob CSCQ protests reddit

Hello currently debating getting a masters from either a school in the states (ball state) or a school in the UK (heriott-watt university). Both would be done online. I currently have 1.5yrs of experience working in a developer role. Not necessarily a software developer role but it 80% of it involves writing code.

My question is if plan on staying in Canada to work which degree would be more beneficial? Do Canadian companies see a degree from the US vs UK any differently? In terms of cost the UK degree is about 10k cheaper and would take less time (8 courses vs 12 courses).

My main reason for wanting to get the masters is to fill gaps in my knowledge as I don’t have a bachelors in CS but was able to get my current role from doing a bootcamp + self-study.
