Graduated in December 2023 with a BS in Computer Science and Computer Engineering Still No Job /u/GoldGlove2720 CSCQ protests reddit

I graduated in December 2023 (3.74 GPA) and have had maybe 2-3 interviews. I made it to the final round once and they told me I did everything right and would have hired me if the other candidate didnt have more experience than me. This was with a resume my universitys career services helped me with. I was a transfer student so I did not have any “internships” but I held a research position developing software. I also have had a contract software engineer position where I developed a few APIs and then worked on a custom website for the companies employees. I also held a 90day contract position as a web developer. I have not been able to get anything that is a “career”. I paid a friend that knows someone that does resumes and had them redo my resume which was a lot better than what it was previously and since then nothing. Phone screens where they say they are looking for more experience and that is it.

I am mentally at my breaking point. It is so draining and dehumanizing to constantly apply to jobs (over 350 since December 2024 alone). I even got rejected from the IT department of a company a close friend works at and when he went to ask the director of the department he said I am overqualified and will get auto rejected. I also got rejected at a local grocery store as a cashier… I am at my wits end and finances are almost gone.
