It seems like every year, the state ends up absolutely consumed by horrific, hellish fires. What causes this? Why is there no way to prevent it, like how some states build hurricane-proof buildings or earthquake-resistant infrastructure? Why do the fires always seem to spread into inhabited areas other than “because fire spreads”? I know I’m pushing the limits of “no stupid questions” but it’s been bothering me.
