Received offer for Amazon SWE, family don’t want me to relocate due to family dynamic, is a location switch possible? /u/itscrit CSCQ protests reddit

Hi there, I’ve just received an offer for a graduate SWE for Amazon in Berlin.

I’m from the UK and my family was happy beforehand when I said I was applying to Berlin, but upon receiving the offer they are a little concerned about me relocating, because one of my siblings has schizophrenia and has just moved to London where I live at the moment, and they want someone there as well as things can get difficult for them, and they may need someone close for support.

Does anyone know if it is possible to request a change of location to become an Amazon SWE in London instead, due to this complex family issue? It’s a tricky situation to navigate and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
