Anyone else miss having to use ground mounts sometimes? /u/ghostboyfields World of Warcraft

Playing SOD, I find myself so much more immersed in the world when I’m not skyriding across the continent all the time.

Everything just feels so much more grounded in classic, even if I miss a lot of the QOL and design approaches from retail.

Really, I think retail is the better game, but classic immerses me in a way retail hasn’t in a very long time. The former feels like DnD, the latter feels like a sprint to cap out level and gear and keys.

Consider this essay for further reading if this resonates with you as well. I discovered it a while ago, and it touches me deeply as someone who started playing as a kid in BC. https://www.wired.com/story/world-of-warcraft-escape-memorial/
