So, they really like me due to my open source contributions. I have some pretty popular projects.

US company, crypto market. CEO ex Google. I am currently in Europe, it’s a remote position. Range is 45-125k, Senior position.

I applied via a job website. There on my profile, I put my target salary as 75k euros (EDIT: I just saw it was 75k USD…), ~80k USD, which is a hard target I have due to personal reasons related to bad previous work experiences.

I have a curse as my CV is quite bad due to few years of professional experience (but programmed for many years in my own stuff) but modesty aside I am very good at what I do and I always became the best dev on the teams I worked on, delivering a lot and with great quality. If my CV was better I could go 100k+.

The second interview was yesterday and it was good, they like me and the CEO joined in the middle of the talk to say I have high probability of joining, which isn’t a thing usually said. The interviewer, a dev there, said in the end they would like me there.

How should I handle the money talk? I am terrible at them and even traumatized, they don’t go well on my side and drags me to shit for months as I feel humiliated and not worthy. Of course I am not proud at all about this.

80k USD is my target and minimum but of course I would be open to more, specially as they are really into me and they said they need someone fast as they have a lot to do.

Just 85k would already make me extra happy and confident on myself. Beyond that it already makes me feel insecure and I don’t think I could ask for that without sounding insecure.
