Let’s talk dress shirt collars /u/Philly4Sure /r/malefashionadvice

I really hate it when my dress shirt collars get floppy. I prefer not to starch them. And I don’t love button down collars. I’ve tried the Working Stiffs inserts, but I don’t like the way they make the collar look, it’s too tight to the inner collar of that makes sense. I bought a J Crew shirt from a consignment shop and the collar is fairly stiff and stands up well. The tag says ‘Flex wrinkle free’, so I can’t tell why it’s different than other J Crew or other brand dress shirts. It’s semi-spread so I am starting to think that spread collars may stay up better? Anyway, wanted to get insights from the community here to see if there’s any insight as I know others hate the floppy collar look.
