I want to add someone but they nor anyone is in the recently played section, am i missing something? /u/Old_Chest_6913 Steam on Reddit

So, i met someone on team fortress and want to friend them, i have done that before by going on “recently played with” and adding them from there, i tried to do the same here but they nor as i said no one showed up, im fairly new to steam so am i missing something and is there anything i could do? (Sorry for any typos or bad English)
